Disney unveiled a first peek at its two new “Star War” lands with a scale model and video in preparation of a big announcement expected Saturday during the D23 Expo.

The models show intricate details of the lands under construction at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Copper-domed buildings, intricate rock formations and the Millennium Falcon spacecraft seen in the earliest films make the lands recognizable to Star Wars fans.

The new lands will be based around a “never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before Wild Space,” according to the Disney Parks blog.

In the two main attractions, guests will take the controls of Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission and be placed in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Neither attraction has been named yet.

“To say we are excited for the ‘Star Wars’-themed lands to open in 2019 is an understatement,” said Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks and Resorts. “All along, we have said this will be game-changing, and through the model we can begin to see how truly epic these immersive new worlds will be.”

Chapek is scheduled to speak Saturday at the annual fan event in Anaheim, Calif., where members of the Disney Fan Club gather for a weekend of news and previews of upcoming events.

The 14-acre parks will be Disney’s largest-ever single-themed expansions.
