The runDisney race season begins in 2017 by celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Half Marathon.

The 13.1-mile course through the Magic Kingdom and Epcot will include special 20th anniversary T-shirts and commemorative finisher medals. The race begins at 5:30 a.m. Jan. 7 and ends in the shadow of Spaceship Earth.

The race is part of the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna. The weekend also includes a 5K race on Jan. 5 and a 10K on Jan. 6. The final race of the weekend is the 26.2-mile race Jan. 8 that includes a run through all four Disney theme parks and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The marathon starts at 5:30 a.m. in the Magic Kingdom then runners travel through Animal Kingdom followed by Hollywood Studios with the finish at Epcot.

Runners who want a bigger challenge can run Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge. That’s 39.3 miles combining the half marathon with the full marathon. The Dopey Challenge is the ultimate race and includes all four races, the 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon, to log 48.6 miles.

The half marathon and marathon are $120 per runner. Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge and the Dopey Challenge are $230 each.
