Cedar Point season passholders and hotel guests will find less to ride with their Early Entry privileges for the upcoming 2023 season.

Early Entry allows select guests into the park one hour before the opening time for the general public. The perk is available for guests staying staying at Cedar Point’s five hotels, docked at the Cedar Point Marina, and Platinum, Prestige, and Prestige+ passholders.

That extra hour has also allowed guests to get early rides on some of Cedar Point’s biggest roller coasters, often with shorter lines. But for the 2023 season, only two coasters and a select of flat rides will be available for Early Entry. Cedar Point announced on Friday that the Early Entry ride lineup will consist of:

  • GateKeeper
  • Wild Mouse
  • Atomic Scrambler
  • Matterhorn
  • Calypso
  • Dodgem
  • Kiddy Kingdom (select rides)

While that selection does include Cedar Point’s new-for-2023 coaster, it’s offering three fewer coasters than the 2022 lineup, when Iron Dragon, Magnum XL-200, Millennium Force, and Valravn were available during Early Entry along with GateKeeper.

The comparison is even less favorable if you look back at 2021, when six coasters were offered during Early Entry on weekends, including Steel Vengeance, Maverick, and Raptor, alongside two of the park’s beloved family rides, Cedar Downs Racing Derby and Cadillac Cars.

The reduced Early Entry ride selection will keep most guests close to the new Boardwalk section of the park, debuting on the opening day of the season on May 6.
