The lesson for Cedar Point fans over the last few days: sometimes, theme parks do listen to your complaints.

Coastermania will be returning to the Sandusky, Ohio park for 2026, after an abandoned attempt to replace their annual coaster event — typically filled with exclusive ride times on coasters and special perks — with something smaller.

Here’s a little recap on how we got to this point:

  • Tuesday, May 12: Cedar Point announces Coastermania will be replaced by Morning Rush, a morning-only coaster fan event. Despite costing $95, the new event promised morning rides on only four of Cedar Point’s coasters, leading to fans bashing Morning Rush and demanding the return of Coastermania on social media.
  • Wednesday, May 13: In less than 24 hours, Cedar Point scrubs all mentions of Morning Rush from its website and socials.
  • Thursday, May 14: Coastermania’s return is announced for June 5 and tickets go up for sale.

Cedar Point spokesperson Tony Clark anyone who bought tickets to Morning Rush — in the brief time frame they were even on sale — will be guaranteed a spot at Coastermania.

The itinerary for the 2026 Coastermania looks very similar to what Cedar Point fans expect from the annual event, with exclusive ride times (ERT in coaster lingo) for attendees both before and after the park’s regular operating hours. Here’s the full itinerary:
