Universal's first "value" hotel has Disney and neighboring I-Drive hotels beat in some areas, but not when it comes to the lackluster food court.
Two major 2019 additions to Universal Orlando Resort outside its theme parks are now open, including one that expands Universal’s footprint out to International Drive.
Disney World filed multiple lawsuits against Orange County Property Appraiser Rick Singh on June 14, adding to the more than 40 complaints the resort has pending against Singh dating back to December 2018.
The pirate-themed hotel is the third on-site accomodation at the Winter Haven resort, and will feature 150 rooms, including four suites.
Orlando was once again the most-visited destination in the U.S., with the record-setting year boosted by increases in tourism from Brazil and Mexico.
“With the lease coming to full term this summer, rather than renovating the current location, we're transitioning our brand into Estefan Kitchen at Margaritaville Resort Orlando,” Estefan's team said in a statement.
Recognizing the demand for the 14-acre “Star Wars”-themed land, Disney is trying some different approaches to control crowds.
Rides at Margaritaville's Island H20 Live will include names like Hashtag Heights, Follow Me Falls and Retweet Racers.
